Once upon a while ago I was a massive Ed Sheeran fan. Not sure that I would still call myself that. I like his music, but I don’t love it in the same way that I liked his early, indie sound. But his new album is out… And it’s… Better?
It feels like a little bit of a return to the songs of old, but with a bit more “production” I guess? I don’t know. I’m not a great music critic. All I know is that my youngest son is OBSESSED with Ed. So I bought his new album.
Boat is the lead track and 2nd single from the album and I love it. Raw. Heartfelt. Not poppy or melodic or catchy, it’s just emotion. And I feel like I relate to the lyrics.
